CHL Food Systems graduate student trainees Christina Young and Pauline McFall attended and presented at the Society for Nutrition Education and Behavior (SNEB) conference in Knoxville, Tennessee from July 29 to August 1, 2024, along with Guam CHL co-investigator Dr. Tanisha Aflague and CHL partners Dr. Chloe Lozano and Dr. Melissa Olfert.
Christina gave an oral presentation on “Capturing Infant Human Milk Intake Through A Mobile Food Record” during the Rapid Digital Technology Symposium. This research is being conducted with Dr. Marie Revilla (PI and CHL FS Co-PD) using the data from the Exploring Diet Diversity of Native Hawaiian Mothers and Infants Study.
Pauline had a poster presentation on one of her dissertation studies titled, “Fa’a Samoa Recruitment for a Study on Caregiver Perceptions of Child Diet Quality in American Samoa.” This portion of her study was co-authored and assisted by Dr. Jean Butel, Dr. Rachel Novotny, and her research assistant from American Samoa, Eirenei Tesimale.
We look forward to many more opportunities for CHL Trainees to share their research at national and worldwide conferences!
