The CHL Center of Excellence and CHL Network Multistate project held joint meetings between August 10-12, 2021. We were unable to meet in person this year due to COVID-19 pandemic restrictions. Instead, the meetings were hosted virtually via Zoom. This year marks the second year the annual meetings have gone virtual.
Highlights of the CHL Center meeting included updates on the Healthy Eating Index levels of young children, food costs for families in the CHL region, and the long-term impacts of the CHL intervention. There was a special presentation on young children’s 24-hour activity and sleep patterns in relation to obesity using CHL data presented by collaborator Dr. Tony Okely from the University of Wollongong. Highlights of the CHL Network meeting included an exploration into food and nutrition security data in the network.
