Outlined below were the expectations for fellows enrolled in the CHAP Undergraduate Summer Fellowship Program. The CHAP Undergraduate Summer Fellowship Program ran from mid-May through mid-August.
- Apply to and register with the University of Hawai‘i Outreach College to enroll in FSHN 185 online and FSHN 455 online during summer session 1
- Complete program evaluation forms
- Participate in face to face and/or virtual orientation session(s) in May
- Meet weekly with a mentor
- Participate in virtual sessions, as needed, with the CHAP team throughout the summer
- Complete Ethics Training
- Attend a 7-day training opportunity at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa (Honolulu, HI)
- Identify and complete a field experience under guidance of a mentor that uses diet and/or anthropometric field assessment techniques
- Complete a field experience summary write-up and create a video on the field experience
- Agree in good faith to keep contact information up to date and to complete post-CHAP evaluation form online annually for 3 years
