Hear our feedback from our CHAP fellows!

“This program was like nothing I have ever experienced before. The fellows you meet from across the Pacific are so passionate about their goals and future. I have learned so much from this program: from soft skills, public health, epidemiology, nutrition, and obesity in the Pacific region. I strongly encourage those who are interested in this program to take the chance and apply! This experience will change and shape the way you think.”  – CHAP Student 2017

“If you were curious about the topic of nutrition, particularly children’s nutrition, this program is for you! The CHAP program provided me with the exposure I needed in the field of research and the processes that go with it. You have the opportunity to meet a lot of bright, young peers as well as wise, experienced mentors that you can learn from.” – CHAP Student 2017

Hear our feedback from our CHAP mentors!

“I enjoyed helping my mentee to become more familiar with research in the area of childhood obesity prevention. This is a good way for students to get to know a bit about the literature in a particular area and to better understand methods used in research studies. This program is a good way to prepare for graduate school, and interacting with a mentor is a rewarding experience for students.”  – CHAP Mentor 2017

“The CHAP program is an outstanding program in the Pacific for students that are passionate about improving the health of their community.  The program will provide you with training on child health assessment, guidance on conducting research and managing project funding.  This is a remarkable experience for students to put textbook learning into practical application.  The fellowship takes commitment on the part of the fellow to complete online work and meet program deadlines throughout the summer.   This is a highly recommended internship for undergraduate students seeking to pursue a career in public health.”   – CHAP Mentor 2017
